2018 new tourism record: 16.5 million overnight stays with the target for 2020 within reach: 18 million!
For the eighth time in a row, Vienna's overnight stays have risen to record levels. In the first half of 2019, Vienna counted 7.9 million overnight stays - an increase of 9.9 % over the same period of the previous year. The tourism strategy plans for the year 2020 18 million overnight stays and 1 billion turnover. The average room occupancy increased to around 78 % (bed occupancy 61 %). The average RevPar for all hotels in all categories is EUR 67.5. Vienna has the highest occupancy rate of all Austrian provinces over the year is already the 8th most visited city in Europe.
